Our Whole Fried Maitake Mushrooms recipe offers a crispy, savory treat that’s perfect as an appetizer or main dish. The Maitake mushrooms are roasted, coated in a seasoned flour mixture, and fried until golden brown, creating a delightful texture and rich umami flavor. This dish is ideal for mushroom lovers and anyone looking to add a gourmet twist to their meals.

Ingredients

  • Whole Maitake Mushroom
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 1.5 tsp paprika powder
  • 1.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1.5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil for frying

Directions

1. Remove mushroom base with out separating the mushroom. Roast in theoven for 5-10 minutes at 350F to remove excess moisture. Allow to cool. 2. Combine flour and spices. In a second bowl combine 1/3 cub of the flourmixture with 3/4 cup water and whisk until smooth. 3. Coat mushroom in wet batter then coat in flour mixture. Repeat for a 2nd coating if desired. 4. Heat oil in a pot large enough to cover the mushroom. Place whole mushroom in oil and fry for a few minutes or untilmushroom is golden on al sides. 5. Remove from oil and place on paper towel to remove excess oil 6. Use as an appetizer or in place of fried chicken
